Hidden in the misty heights of the Anaga mountains, Pico del Inglés is one of those places that truly deserves a half-day visit. The journey itself is part of the experience: a winding road takes you through dense laurel forests, narrow bends, and sudden clearings where the landscape opens up dramatically. It feels wild, quiet, and far removed from the busy beach resorts of the island.
At the viewpoint, the reward is spectacular. On clear days, the view stretches over the rugged Anaga ridges, deep green valleys, and even across to Santa Cruz and the Atlantic Ocean. When the clouds roll in—as they often do—you might find yourself standing above a soft white sea of mist, with mountain peaks rising like islands. It’s unpredictable, but always impressive.
Pico del Inglés is also a great starting point for short walks in Anaga Rural Park. Well-marked trails lead into the ancient laurel forest, where moss-covered trees, filtered light, and birdsong create a magical atmosphere. Even an easy stroll here can take an hour or two, especially if you stop often—because you will.
Plan to take your time: bring a light jacket (it’s cooler up here), enjoy a picnic, and simply soak in the silence and fresh air. This isn’t a place to rush. Pico del Inglés is about slowing down, breathing deeply, and experiencing Tenerife’s most mysterious and green side.
