A highlight here is Lago Martiánez, a stunning complex of seawater pools designed by César Manrique—an excellent alternative to the open ocean, especially when the sea is rough.
If greenery is more your style, head to the Jardín Botánico, where towering palms and exotic plants offer a calm escape from the bustle of town. Later, enjoy lunch at one of the many local restaurants or cafés—fresh fish, Canarian potatoes, and a slow coffee are all part of the experience.
End your visit at Playa Jardín, with its dramatic black sand and views of Mount Teide on clear days. Puerto de la Cruz isn’t about rushing from sight to sight—it’s about atmosphere, variety, and taking the time to enjoy Tenerife’s greener, more traditional side.
